Day 6: Season 1, Episode 6 Winter Moon
When I saw this was ANOTHER winter scene, I audibly groaned. I think I just really hate working with snow & dealing with how to get the values and depth in there without it just looking like a blanket of white. I spent a big chunk of time on this one and this time, I decided to map out where I wanted things to go. Not big sketches but just making a rough outline. It helped guide me a bit more. I think I like how this one turned out vs. the Winter Mist one, BUT it’s still not my favorite. I hate making clouds too, as you can see. I think I should have just left the moon alone and not add any clouds because I think that would’ve worked better on its own. My trees look like blobs in the front area…another lesson in restraint with this one!
