Day 3: Season 1, Episode 3 Ebony Sunset

Moving along to the ‘black canvas’ edition. Bob is working with black as his background so I had to make a first wash with black, crimson, and yellow gradient as my first layer on the canvas with acrylics and then work from there. Gotta say, I enjoyed the dramatic feel of this sunset scene but it was a bit of a challenge once again as we started to work outward towards the foreground. I tend to really overdo it with some paint strokes so I think my main challenge is learning to restrain a bit more and keep things with one main focal point (which should be the sunset). The foreground in mine tends to compete with that sunset. Not that big of a deal, but definitely something for me to work on!
