Day 96: Season 8, Episode 8 Foot Of The Mountain
I’ve been trying out new ways to create the sky and using different ways of blending. I think it has become my favorite part of the painting process - establishing that base layer of color that helps set the tone for the rest of the composition. I really loved my golden sky in the previous painting so I tried that out again on this one. I’ve also really fallen in love with creating mountain ranges because it gives my mind a bit of freedom with my brushstrokes. I think I did an okay job with the depth on this one but I feel like the piece of land with the cabin looks just a bit muddied when it comes to the overall contrast. I like this one; not necessarily my favorite but it’s up there with the ones I enjoyed.
