Day 104: Season 9, Episode 3 Red Sunset
I think this is one of my absolute favorite sunset paintings I’ve done thus far. From the sky, to the lake, and the color balance of the trees and foliage - everything just fits and works so well together. I’ve gotten more confident in mixing and blending my skies different ways so they show a larger range of colors. Instead of also just using 1 color at a time for the foliage like how Bob does, I decided to create my bushes by ranging the colors and I think that really helped me created the layers of bushes (instead of it looking like one massive blob). I think that was the key technique I was missing on that. I love this one so much!!
