A Wrap On Season 1!

I’m so proud of myself for finishing up the first season! I laid out all of the tiny canvases from episode 1 to 12 and it’s so satisfying to look at my overall progression. Here are some little notes I took for myself on this season:

Favorite Painting: Season 1, Episode 11 Winter Glow - I love how I was able to control my painting with this one and how beautiful the sunrise looks in the sky.

Least Favorite: Season 1, Episode 9 Seascape: Ironically enough, I love painting seascapes but with this one I started off too ambitious, didn’t really pay attention to Bob’s instructions and kinda went nuts. My clouds are blah in this one and even though I tried to fix it all, everything ended up looking way too overworked and muddy.

Best Lesson Learned: Season 1, Episode 10 Mountain Lake: After my crazy session with the seascape one, I definitely learned to dial it back and learn to restrain myself. I was really happy with how the reflections in this one came out (especially where those stones are in the front) and I think this is where I really turned a corner when it comes to spending the right amount of time on the background vs. the foreground.
