Season 14 Recap

This season certainly had a large range - from the dramatic sunsets to the quiet and dark forests. As much as I wasn’t feeling season 13, I think I redeemed myself with this season. Granted, it’s not my favorite season but I think there have been a few wins and a more risk-taking than before.

Favorite Painting: Windy Waves (E7) Everything in this painting is telling the same story. The crashing wave, the bending palms, the stormy sky, and it all connects. I've been chasing that translucent green wave curl since Black Seascape in Season 12 and this is the first time the whole painting caught up to the wave.

Least Favorite Painting: Shadow Pond (E11) The forest light was doing something interesting but the whole thing fell flat. No real depth, no clear focal point.

Painting I Learned the Most From: Misty Forest Oval (E12) I painted this one right after Shadow Pond and solved the exact problem that bothered me. The purple sky pushing everything forward, the mist creating real recession. In such a small oval frame, this one really made me challenge myself to create that perspective that I love.
