Day 188: Season 15, Episode 9 Christmas Eve Snow
Not sure what feels ‘Christmas-y’ about this painting, but it just feels like all the other snowy paintings I’ve done in the past. I spent a lot more time creating those contrasty clouds in the sky and focused most of my energy creating different planes of depth. I’ve learned now to never just put the color onto the canvas. It needs to be either mixed with some black or some white depending on what plane of depth I’m creating. If it’s for the background, I add more white and the closer I get to the front, I add a bit more black to my paint to add more value to it.
