Day 17: Season 2, Episode 6 Black River
I put a little bit more trust in myself with this one and let my artist eye lead the way. Instead of following Bob too closely, I used him as a reference but let my eyes and my hands guide me. There were a few times when I paused to be like ‘Ehhh where is this going?’ but I kept moving the brush and go with my instincts. I feel like if this were an earlier painting, I would’ve gotten frustrated at certain moments (when it’s a work in progress, it can start to look ugly) but I know now that it’s all a part of the session. I’ve gotten more comfortable with these types of paintings and I’ve stopped spending too much time in one particular spot - I finished this one within an hour or so and I’d say that’s a win!
