Day 56: Season 5, Episode 6 Ocean Sunrise
Hello, my lovely beach landscapes! Every time I make a new one of these I get SO excited. I love the beach so much and I really love creating the overall calming mood of a beautiful sunrise playing with the water. With this one, Bob brought on another guest teacher which I didn’t mind because sometimes it’s a nice change of pace. With this one, I wanted to focus a lot more on the soft gradient of the sky. If you remember my overly excited seascape from season 1 (or was it season 2?) I learned to really take a step back and to not overwork the water to death. I took my time with this one. Once I got to the foreground of the black shadow dune, I allowed myself to really take that risk and bring in that dark contrast. I think I did a good job with making the right light shade of the highlight (not too dark and not too light). I also took my time with the grass silhouette because I wanted to really make sure they were delicate and whispy. I really love how this one turned out and it makes me so happy to look at it. Such an improvement!!
